It has been a fantastic start to the year for Split 50-50 and its partners with some big totals being raised for a variety of organisations, charities & sporting clubs showcasing how the Split 50-50 platform can be beneficial for all!
One such organisation, the Frances Folk Gathering held their first Split 50-50 raffle over their Festival weekend being drawn on the 24th of February, having a tremendous result. As touched on in the previous edition of the news, the gathering in its 20th anniversary is a staple of South-East South Australia & to be involved with the festival is an absolute thrill! The Gathering raised $3601 over the weekend, with 3 lucky winners sharing in the prize money.
The Woman’s & Children’s Hospital Foundation hosted their inaugural Golf Day on the 1st of March. The Golf Day was held to raise vital funds for the Beach House currently being built in Encounter Lakes. The Beach House is a significant project and one, very much worth supporting. The WCHF do an unbelievable job raising funds in the state and having a chance to partner with them to hold raffles is a great honour we take enormous pride in. The raffle raised $1465 on the day down at Victor Harbor Golf Club with a syndicate of 4 taking out the prize! Please check out the WCHF Megahome Lottery at https://megahomelottery.com.au
The Pembroke Rowing Club also held their first Split 50-50 raffle in March, which was a great success. On the night of the prestigious Head of the River, Hazel Kotro took out the grand prize of $1092 after $2184 was raised leading up to and including the night! A large number of tickets were also bought online through our Split 50-50 website – another way you can make sure to get your tickets if you can’t get to the event itself!
With cricket season now wrapped up our congratulations must go out to Split 50-50 partners, Spalding/Booborowie Cricket Club who won the NACA Premiership defeating Belalie/Mannanarie. Well done lads! (13,879 days since the last one.)
The club also hosted the annual North vs South Spalding cricket match in February celebrating 130 years of cricket in Spalding, where a raffle was held and a number of cash and goods were prizes on offer. The total of the raffle came to $1371, a great result in the small community! Nick Bruce was a happy chap at the end of the day.
Football season has begun with a number of SANFL clubs running raffles through the books this season. Central District and Woodville West Torrens have both held two raffles so far this season with Centrals already raising $2846 through both raffles, while the Eagles have put together two raffles totalling $4332 continuing on from their hot form of last year. Some great money to be won at both grounds!
Glenelg, South Adelaide, and West Adelaide have all held two raffles so far this year also having terrific results. Glenelg got the kitty up to $2159 in their first game at home for the year and $3196 in their second Split 50-50 raffle, while South Adelaide’s best prize pool was$1808 at Noarlunga and West Adelaide reached $1701in their best at Richmond.
